The Aging and Long-Term Support Administration within DSHS, is seeking an Allied Health Field Manager. You'll work on some of the most important projects in the field. You'll address critical issues ensuring compliance with the statutory guidelines surrounding the protection of vulnerable adults. You'll make key decisions regarding actions and processes nurses, long-term care surveyors, and support staff.

Some of what you'll do
As the Field Manager you'll supervise, direct and assign the work of the staff in the field unit which covers multiple counties and municipalities. Oversee the administration and delivery of quality assurance services provided by the field staff including ongoing evaluations, quality assurance and improvement activities to ensure that the work of the unit produces efficient and effective delivery of services to RCS customers.
You'll recommend, execute and evaluate regional operating principles, policies and procedures in accordance with the state and federal rules and regulations.
You'll implement comprehensive RCS/ALTSA strategic, long range goals and work plans for program implementation and operations resulting in quantifiable objectives and outcomes in meeting the mission of DSHS/ALTSA.
You'll have the responsibility to analyze recurring provider quality of care and resident rights issues, recommend, and implement appropriate responses.
You'll collaborate and coordinate the RCS programs with the other divisions within ALTSA, long term care providers, stake holders, advocates, the Assistant Attorney General's Office and other state agencies.
You'll provide clear and effective communications with individuals and groups within and outside of the organization.
You're responsible for managing and supervising a unit within an assigned geographic region.
You'll oversee and supervise the work of the unit to ensure that efficient and effective measurable outcomes are met in accordance with the state and federal guidelines. In addition, you'll ensure that the work that the unit produces, meets the department's mission and the division's purpose statement, strategic plan and quality improvement vision that impacts the vulnerable individuals living in licensed or certified residential settings.
What We Are Looking For:
We're looking for someone who's proficient at building and cultivating cooperative working relationships with other agencies, administration divisions and diverse internal and external stakeholders. We'd like someone with a solid background in supervision and management of professional staff, experience in working with vulnerable adults and experience in the delivery and monitoring of social and health service programs and is culturally competent to lead.
And have
Master's Degree in Social Work, Speech Pathology, Occupation or Physical Therapy, Psychology, Special Education, Nutrition, Sociology or Allied Field and two years of professional experience in planning, administering licensing, monitoring or delivering social and health programs but we will consider someone with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Speech Pathology, Occupation or Physical Therapy, Psychology, Special Education, Nutrition, Sociology or Allied Field and four years of professional experience in planning, administering licensing, monitoring or delivering social and health programs.
Ability to demonstrate critical reliability and thinking characteristics to meet the demands of the workplace.
Communicate effectively
Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals and groups in areas of conflict management, diplomacy, diversity, and negotiating and influencing and convey the missions and goals of the department in clear, timely, persuasive messages that positively influence the thoughts and actions of others and help accomplish the desired outcome for the department.
Knowledge of geriatrics, developmental disabilities, and mental illness.
Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of current practices and procedures in RCS.
Ability to manage and direct nurses in the work unit, and make key decisions regarding actions and processes followed regarding quality of care and life issues.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks for efficient and effective utilization of resources; respond timely to email, phone messages, and mail.
Ability to interpret data and devise plans of actions to address areas of concern.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary management team in a positive and professional manner and maintain an objective, professional and respectful demeanor with difficult persons or during challenging events.
Ability to understand and follow policy, regulation and directives from management.
Ability to learn and practice current principles and practices of personnel and management; take timely, appropriate corrective/disciplinary action.
Ability to communicate complex law or policy to diverse groups of people (people from varying cultures, primary language groups, or/and sophistication).
Demonstrate an extensive understanding of state and federal regulations, and interpretations pertaining to nursing homes, adult family homes, and boarding homes;
Understand the long and short-term program plans for each provider type.
Be familiar with the civil and criminal law and professional regulations related to abuse and neglect of vulnerable adults.
Understand the legislative processes, organizational structure responsibilities, and operational procedures of the administration and other state agencies.
Ability to assess situations and determine the best course of action to take to protect and further the goals and objectives of the department; make timely/responsive decisions using a logical rational approach.
Ability to effectively facilitate meetings and training sessions (e.g. unit meetings, provider forums).
