Function:
Assumes responsibility for the administration, retention, relationship management and sales development of selected trust, agency, estate and guardianship accounts.
Understands and complies with standard department practices of risk management, regulatory requirements, general trust policies and sufficiency of documentation.
Role and Responsibilities:

Supervises the daily activities of assigned personnel by: (E)
Allocating and coordinating the work flow.
Guiding and advising subordinates (usually a trust assistant) in the more complex phases of their work.
Training new employees, as required. (usually in a replacement situation)
Provides leadership as Relationship Manager for significant and profitable clients, as well as an integral contributor to the team concept fo! r client relationships, when appropriate. Demonstrates a high ! level of fiduciary, and investment knowledge - coupled with client service experience in areas of trust management, accounting or financial services involving a âbook of business,â or equivalent experience or education. (E)
Provides appropriate advice, counseling and solutions to clientâs inquiries and issues. Works with other managers and staff to proactively meet client needs in a responsive, efficient manner, across department lines.
May perform higher-level, complex client service functions including cash management and portfolio modeling options, drafting documents such as a Request for Proposal, providing investment and lending referrals and problem resolution with professional-level solutions.
Will participate (or become a voting member) of one of the IMT Division review committees. (E)
Assumes responsibility for making professional sales and retention calls on prospects and clients with the objectives of securing new sales, additions to existin! g accounts and increasing total account revenues. Conducts joint calls with other department representatives for customer acquisition and expansion. (E)
Participates in community organizations for business development and community betterment when appropriate. Actively seeks opportunities to selectively participate on boards, in clubs and other activities that afford contact with existing clients, high net worth individuals and other qualified trust prospects. (E)
Assumes responsibility for the orderly and efficient administration of all assigned accounts maintaining standards as follows: (E)
Understanding and complying with standard department practices of risk management, regulatory requirements, general trust policies and sufficiency of documentation.
Analyzing and interpreting, with the aid of counsel when appropriate, legal instruments to determine the duties and responsibilities of the Bank and risks associated therewith.
Representing the Bank thro! ugh contact with customers, co-trustees, attorneys, accountants, or oth! ers who have an interest in an account being administered by the Bank
Conferring, on a timely basis, with principals, wards, beneficiaries, and others regarding trust matters and determining necessary actions to insure effective administration of those accounts.
Attends continuing education classes on wills, trusts and estate planning and investment topics. Demonstrates a high level of Bank product knowledge and client service skills based on completion of internal and approved external training programs (E)
Able and willing to prepare for and present trust lectures/seminars to internal and external groups (E)

Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:
Valid Washington Driver License required. Work conditions are that of a general office environment. Occasional travel to customer home, accountant or attorneyâs office or nursing home or funeral home. Occasional long distance, overnight travel f! or business or educational purposes. Physical demands associated with c! omputer systems and an office environment.
Level 10
3 to 5 years banking, trust or investment experience.
Exceptional oral and written skills, expressing ideas and concepts clearly.
Works independently. Makes it a point to fully understand and clarify customersâ needs, requests, and expectations.
Extensive product and technical knowledge including RCW Trust Statutes, Prudent Investor Rule, probate processes, current estate planning techniques, tax laws, contracts, real estate financing, bank and investment products. Willing to delegate important tasks.

Must have understanding of broad spectrum of human nature.

5 years banking, t! rust or investment experience with 3 of those years demonstrating successful client service and sales experience.
Exceptional oral and written skills explaining even difficult to understand concepts clearly.

Makes it a point to fully understand and clarify customersâ needs, requests, and expectations.
Effectively deals with difficult issues and complex client needs.
Broadens the knowledge base of direct reports by setting a challenging climate to encourage individual growth.
