The Contract Manager will identify and provide solutions to minimize/mitigate risks. The CM would also ensure compliance with the internal risk screening process and Delegation of Authority.
Essential Responsibilities:
Serve as a key member of the Sales, Commercial, and Operations teams to support profitable growth and execution of the Wellstream business.
Manage and enforce the "battle of the forms" procedures and the use of special terms and conditions for small transactions
Review proposed terms and conditions contained in customer invitations to tender, recommending changes based on the Wellstream terms of sale/risk profile, prepare exceptions/qualifications, and participate in subsequent contract negotiations.
Draft and negotiate international contractual agreements with customers for the supply of Wellstream products supported by Regional Counsel.
Advise and communicate with Sourcing regarding any contract terms and conditions that require flow down to suppliers.
Proactively direct & support O&G Risk initiatives to improve processes and local capabilities.
Assist in-house lawyers in review and drafting of transactions.
Work through different time zones to support regional activity and be flexible to travel for negotiations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
BA/BS degree.
Extensive Contract Risk or Contract Management experience in OIL&GAS/Energy.
An ability to interpret customer bid evaluation models from bid documents to ensure proposals are clearly aligned with base customer requirements.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with proven drafting, and negotiation skills, and strong emphasis on being able to translate complex bid requirements into task level inputs.
An ability to work individually as well as part of a multi-functional team, global mindset.
An ability to influence others in a matrix environment and to manage and enforce key processes (i.e. "battle of the forms" and procedures for the use of special terms and conditions).
A deep understanding of general and commercial contract management principles with an ability to negotiate terms that clearly define contract obligations and minimize liability exposure.
Experience in negotiating complex, long term contractual agreements in the oil and gas industry is preferred and/or government contract management background is helpful, though not required.
Candidate is process oriented and self-starter with a proven grasp of contract terms.
Outstanding interpersonal, diplomatic, communication and computer skills are essential (ability to operate Microsoft Office Tools) and a well-developed sense of humour.
Fluency in English, with ability to draft/negotiate documents.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:Desired Characteristics:
MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
Familiarity with drilling and production equipment, as well as operations and maintenance and Off-shore market.
Project Management Experience
Fluent in a second foreign language.
