Description: Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Project Engineer acts as project manager and design leader on advanced design projects.
Responsible for the research, design and management of basic and advanced projects related to new products and product improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Build and lead cross-functional teams to develop innovative fluid system solutions from concept through market launch.
Communi! cate with customer technical teams to identify project and pro! duct requirements and confirm that performance expectations are met
Develop and coordinate production of prototypes, including pre-production drawings
Test product concepts and/or final models for functionality, as well as their ability to meet the product specifications , write test plans and manage test process
Perform competitor product analysis and testing
Research materials for new product development and established product improvements and cost reductions
Investigate quality problems and drive design improvements to enhance existing product performance and quality
Develop and maintain control documentation including drawings, specifications and procedures
Provide technical support to sales and manufacturing groups as required
Work with the Manager and/or Patent Attorney to determine patent feasibility and provide necessary documentation
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Required Abilities:
Demonstrates ability t! o take product from concept to finished component drawings using 3D CAD systems (Solidworks preferred)
Displays strong problem-solving skills using root cause analysis methods
Defines scope of work and accurately estimates required effort and time
Develops test plans and is familiar with other supporting engineering documents
Takes active leadership roles on teams, looks for ways to be proactive
Experienced in leading multi-department teams
Able to balance work between two or three projects
Has experience working with contractors, outside service providers and vendors Education and Experience :
BS Engineering or Technical Field
5+ years experience in new product development teams.
Experience with positive displacement pumps and BLDC motor design a plus. Required :
Verification of authorization to work in the United States or EU Member State; and Lawful access to controlled technology as required for the position
