Microsoft has an immediate opening for an experienced patent paralegal to join the Patent Groupâs Business Services Team. This paralegal will provide support of international patent prosecution for our extensive and growing patent portfolio.
This role requires a candidate who has demonstrated a drive for results, works well in ambiguous situations, possesses patent subject matter expertise, is detail-oriented, intelligent, and has the ability to manage mult! iple tasks, prioritize and reprioritize as needed to meet chal! lenging deadlines, and manage complex projects in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
o Reviewing PCT filing packages for accuracy, as well as preparing and filing PCT applications
o Working with outside vendor to track and monitor progress of filing workflow
o Monitoring incoming correspondence and assisting with issue trouble shooting and status updates
o Coordinating with internal attorneys and providing foreign patent prosecution support
o Analyzing and mapping patent families, and assisting with data quality audits in the database
o Corresponding with outside counsel regarding prosecution
o Applying & imparting your worldwide patent prep and prosecution experience
o Collaborating in the area of training, overseeing, and reviewing offshore prosecution docketing
o Contributing to the development of tools and processes to improve efficiencies
o Maintaining SharePoint team sites, document li! braries, lists, and workflows

Qualifications:
o BA/BS or relevant work experience; paralegal certification a plus
o 4+ years of patent experience, preferably with foreign and PCT patent prosecution experience
o Expertise navigating worldwide patent & trademark office web sites
o Experience with Anaqua, Thomson Innovation, Derwent, and Innography
o Good degree of technology acumen (MS Office products, databases, and analysis tools! )
