Would you like to work with teams around the globe? As Corporate C! ounsel, IT Infrastructure, you will serve as the primary attorney to several key IT infrastructure business teams and partner with them to acquire and implement technology assets to support all Amazon businesses worldwide: cloud computing, retail, digital media, web developer services, and on-demand publishing of books and movies. This position structures, drafts and negotiates agreements, manages outside counsel, and counsels internal business clients on:
Inbound technology licensing, including traditional software and SaaS;
Hardware and software development, procurement and contract manufacturing;
IT outsourcing;
Open Source;
Content delivery agreements, including streaming and edge caching agreements;
Content licensing;
Data center facilities;
Telecommunications, such as acquiring fiber access, IP data transit and peering, and voice access for call centers; and
Other commercial transactions, ranging from standard contracts to comp! lex, high-dollar-value transactions.
The role also provide! s day-to-day business and intellectual property law counseling; identifies opportunities for and implements process improvements; administers and resolves legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships; and handles pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
Qualified candidates must have three or more years of legal experience (with at least two years at a law firm) as a tech-transactions attorney; in-house experience in a technology or Internet company is a plus. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. A J.D. degree and membership in one state bar is required. Basic Qualifications
