The King County Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program is loo! king for our new ADR Associate .
The ADR Associateâs key responsibilities will include client intake, coordinating and managing mediation case flow, conducting evaluations, analyzing results and making recommendations, managing events, and mentoring mediation students. The ADR Associate is the primary point person for the Interlocal Conflict Resolution Group, a shared neutrals program which provides mediation services to public jurisdictions and labor unions throughout the Puget Sound region.
The King County ADR Program services include mediating workplace disputes, facilitating collective bargaining and grievance discussions; chartering and facilitating labor-management committees and project labor agreements; training in negotiation mediation and conflict resolution; mediating and facilitating complex multi-jurisdictional and land use cases involving King County. The ADR Program is dedicated to creating new products that support the responsible steward! ship of County resources by reducing the cost of conflict for ! King County government, the tax payers, and our regional partners.

Job Duties:
Perform client intake and conflict coaching. Manage case flow and make case assignments.
Gather data and analyze effectiveness of various intervention processes. Write reports and issue papers to summarize analysis. Develop program recommendations.
Coordinate program activities. Produce quarterly work program reports.
Monitor student mediator progress through training and certification process. Review and mentor student mediators.
Develop program policies and procedures.
Develop and manage ADR database, maintain and monitor mediation records and case files, ! assist with ADR website development and maintenance.
Develop and prepare a variety of reports.
Develop survey instruments, conduct surveys of program participants, interpret and report on survey findings.
Respond to inquiries from clients, Interlocal participants and potential program users.
Monitor expenditures.
Participate in program marketing and outreach, make presentations to individuals, groups, and Interlocal partners, develop and design flyers, brochures, pamphlets and other marketing materials.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:
Necessary Experience, Certification and Technical Skill-Set:
A year or more of full-time experience conducting client intake and conflict analysis and providing conflict coaching, as well as monitoring case flow and making case assignments
Professional Mediation Certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first six months of ! employment
Experience in mentoring other mediators
Ex! perience developing marketing materials such as flyers, brochures and pamphlets
Experience coordinating schedules and assignments of staff and monitoring staff expenditures
Experience in data gathering and analysis, as well as the ability to use first-hand customer information to make recommendations on the improvement of products and services
Experience managing a database
Experience giving effective presentations to different types of audiences in both casual and formal settings Just as important as your technical skill-set and experience are the following Core Competencies and Characteristics:

Other Position Information:
This position is not represented by a labor union. It is non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act and therefore overtime-eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, comprising a 40-hour workweek; normally 8:00 a.m. â" 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
