Under general supervision of the President, independently performs a variety of complex and confidential projects and assignments for the President and! the President’s Office, reporting directly to the President. This position also provides administrative support to the College Board of Trustees, and may serve as administrative liaison to the Board of Trustees, President’s Cabinet, and President’s Staff. Regularly represents the President, as assigned.

Position Responsibilities:
Serve as confidential assistant to the President. Initiate and coordinate meeting agendas and materials as well as arrange appointments, meetings, conferences, and receptions hosted by the President’s Office. Provide confidential, professional administrative support as required, ensuring integrity of office and processes.
Act as liaison for the President with the college community, State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, the Office of the Attorney General, other state agencies, businesses, educational organizations, local school districts, other colleges and universities, and members of the public.
Ass! ist in compilation of information, as requested. Compose corre! spondence, publish and distribute meeting agendas and minutes, and assist in the preparation of materials, scheduling of reports, and facilities for Board of Trustees meetings.
Receive complaints with tact and diplomacy; refer to appropriate department for resolution.
Advise the President on contractual issues, disputes, and concerns, as may be appropriate.
Demonstrate positive and collaborative working relationships with other campus departments.
Provide information and clarification of College policies and procedures to faculty, staff, students and the public. Ensure areas of responsibility operate within the policies and procedures of the College and applicable governing agencies.
Create and maintain professional contacts database on behalf of the President, to include sensitive information.
Maintain the President’s calendar and schedule appointments, arrange meetings, provide telephone and e-mail support, and compose correspondence. Establish c! alendar priorities in consultation with the President.
Evaluate budget reports for the President’s Office and Board of Trustees and collaborate with the President on budgetary decisions.
Observe all legal requirements in assisting with Board responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain accurate records of administrative/exempt contracts as resource for President.
Receive service of legal documents on behalf of the President and/or Board of Trustees.
Research background information in preparation of speeches and presentations by the President.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate Degree and five years of progressively responsible administrative support experience;
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and proactively add value to a team;
Demonstrated expertise using MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point and the ability to use them ! for complex computerized tasks;
Effective oral communication skills! in English.
Successful experience preparing comprehensive reports, materials, and correspondence;
Expertise in English sentence structure, grammar, punctuation and spelling; demonstrated ability to modify writing style for various audiences and modes of communication;
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and/or discrete matters with tact and diplomacy;
Ability to effectively work with people with a variety of agendas, emotions and requests;
Demonstrated cultural competence working with diverse populations including race, ethnicity, gender, ability, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic, etc.;
Organize, set priorities and coordinate activities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Progressively responsible experience supporting a senior executive of an organization;
Evidence of a general understanding of Community and Technical College System or educational environment. WORKING CONDITIONS:

Sit at a desk/computer station! for extended periods;
Read a volume of printed text and text on a computer screen;
Communicate by telephone;
Sit for extended periods at meetings, listens= to oral presentations, and hand write/record minutes of the meeting;
Stand and speak before groups of people;
Walk around campus on errands.
