SSI/SSDI Overview:
Within the organization PCG has a project team dedicated to providing SSI/SSDI disability representation and advocacy work throughout the country. The projects include the identification, development, application and representation at all levels of the adjudication process including attending hearings with our clients before Administrative Law Judges.
Overall Responsibilities:
Public Consulting Group is seeking a Case Writer. He/She will review and analyze compiled data related to Social Security Administration (SSA) disability claims, including ensurin! g completeness and validity of the claim. The Case Writer will! complete all SSA required forms (both hardcopy and online) and prepare a written summation of the claim specific to the individuals disability as it relates to SSA disability requirements.
Specific Responsibilities:
Review and analyze all medical records and other information provided to ensure completeness and validity of the case to make sure it has been properly developed prior to being filed with the Disability Determination Service (DDS).
Identify proper forms and verify signatures on all the required SSA forms and documentation.
Complete and submit the entire SSA disability on line application. Form SSA i3368
Summarize claimant's impairments and inability to work on the i3368.
Manage a caseload and complete approximately 60 to 75 cases per month.
Provide monthly reporting statistics to Supervisor for designated area of responsibility.
Assist the Claims Analyst with the Theory of the Case and with any post filing development! .
Required Skills:
Understanding of modern office methods and practices and be efficient with computers.
Strong written communication skills - familiarity with medical terminology a plus.
Strong Interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish working relationships with federal, state and county agencies as well as the general public.
Ability to work well in and to contribute to a team atmosphere
Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of all materials in the work setting.
Ability to maintain a record keeping and follow-up system and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently, requiring minimal supervision.
Required Experience
Required Experience:
An Associates degree or 2 years relevant experience.
Medical and/or Social Service background preferred.
