Description: PeaceHealth is at present looking to employ Occupational Hlth Safety Splst right now, this position will be dwelled in Washington. Further informations about this position opportunity please read the description below. JOB SUMMARY:
Serves as the liaison for the Workers' Compensation program for Washington Networks and the TPA. Collaborates with key other stakeholders to enhance the performance of PeaceHealth's caregiver safety and workers' compensation program, towards standardization of processes and programs system-wide.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Serves as a liaison between region stakeholders regarding Workers' Compensation Claims and the TPA. Responds to routine workers' compensation issues and questions from adjusters, providers, managers, claimants, case managers, vocational counselors, legal counsel, employee health and human resources staff; escalates complex issues and questions to the Safety & Workers' Compensation Manager.

2. Works with regional caregivers during the claim process to effectively manage the claim, with the main goal to return the caregiver to their job at injury with the least amount of delay and unnecessary costs.

3. Works collaboratively with various parties connected with a claim, including but not limited to adjusters, attorneys, vocational counselors, nurse case managers, investigators, State Agency, Employee Health and Human Resources staff to manage workers' compensation claims and associated issues.

4. Collaborates with region staff, ADA and FMLA coordinators, and leave of absence advocates, to initiate and track claimant's work status including modified-duty assignments. Maintains time off/loss of earnings records and insures adjusters receive information to establish benefit rates and makes payments.

5. Researches, compiles and summarizes information regarding incidents and related medical expenses; assists Safety & Workers Compensation Manager in preparation of ongoing reports as required by state, carrier(s), and established departmental procedures.

6. Actively participates in relevant internal counterpart team(s), safety committees, and focus groups. Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for program enhancements; develop strategies, tactics and recommendations to reduce workers' compensation claims, and reduce the severity and costs of those claims, and enhance accident prevention program and initiatives.

7. Serves as the primary point of contact for Medical Providers with regards to, work status/return to work issues, return-to-work program and related workers' compensation claim management related to the Shared Services Center. Performs various occupational health nurse duties within the Shared Services Center, such as coordination and recordkeeping of immunizations/vaccinations, drug/alcohol screening coordination, workers' compensation claims and case management, OSHA recordable incidents, return-to-work program, and coordination of safety and ergonomic consulting & evaluations. Maintains Employee Health Information and records in OHM software for the Shared Services Center.

8. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS -

EDUCATION:
' Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training and experience in Workers' Compensation.

' Occupational Health Certification is preferred.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
' Minimum 5 yrs in Workers Compensation experience in Occupational Health, Workers' Compensation or related occupation, preferably in healthcare and/or self-insured organization.

' Demonstrated compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of their position.

' Demonstrated effective leadership, ability to promote positive relationships and customer-focused work environment.

' Able to support and interpret PeaceHealth philosophy, policy and procedures.

' Demonstrated knowledge and interest in OSHA regulations, occupational safety, occupational exposure management, injury/illness prevention and case management.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
' Proof of current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.

OTHER SKILLS:
' Demonstrated proficient expertise in MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lync, and Prezi) preferred; knowledge of workers' compensation database preferred.

' Knowledge of workers' compensation insurance laws and legal terminology required.

' Good written and verbal skills.

' Able to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
