L&I Program Coordinator

Location: Tumwater, Washington

The FileFast Call Center is the first point-of-contact for injured workers to file a claim. The w! ork is fast-paced high volume telephone interaction with injured workers, medical providers, attorneys, employers, or their representatives. You’ll work in the call center assisting customers and obtaining information to create a Report of Accident (application for workers’ compensation benefits). You’ll independently contact customers to gather appropriate information and present complete intake application to the account and claim managers for action. Some of what you will do · Assist customers at first contact with L&I. Direct questions of agency programs and services to appropriate program area. Handle customer service inquiries, problems and requests. · Provide injured workers with required notification of their rights and responsibilities associated with filing a claim for benefits and the information on how to protest or appeal a legal decision. · Communicate effectively with frustrated, angry, suicidal, threatening and verbally abusive workers, documenting ! and report any unresolved hostile customer incidents to superv! isor immediately. · Communicate with customers to obtain necessary information, share outcome of decision and actions, interpret and provide technical assistance. · Accurately keying data into computer, mail or fax claim information to customers following confidentiality rules. · Analyze medical, legal, and administrative factors to make sure application for benefits is complete. · Prep incoming claims for review by the account and claim managers. Manage work from work list, ticklers, incoming calls and assignments from supervisor and lead worker. Who should apply L&I employees with 2 years experience assisting customers regarding inquiries, complaints or problems. What we’re looking for 1. Promote harmony and a spirit of cooperation in your work group. 5. Know computers and assists ot! her computer users with application upgrades or technical problems. 6. Come to work as scheduled and use leave appropriately. 7. Communicate well in person, by phone and in writing. 8. Accurately type 45 words per minute minimum (typing assessment required). 9. Demonstrated ability to use Word and Excel. 10. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
