Associate General Counsel

Provide strategic leadership advice to the IRB, the Regulatory department, and the organizationâs other business units.
Hire and develop Regulatory Attorneys. Oversee the workload and projects produced and provide guidance and direction to develop the capacity and performance of the team.
Conduct training to internal and external clients
Assist with policy development and interpretation.
Perform legal research and analysis on specific health care regulatory requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.
Responsible for advising on legal and regulatory issues affecting the organization.
Communicate with regulatory agencies and clients on behalf of the company.
Manage, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements.
Draft, review, and approve IRB guidelines, policies, procedures, guidance, and forms.
Oversee and develop processes related to IRB review, decision-making, and the development and maintenance of organizational policies and procedures.
Education
Licensed attorney with a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
5 or more yearsâ experience in a law firm and/or health care in-house legal or compliance department.
3 or more years of management experience.

Certified IRB Professional (CIP) preferred

Knowledge of legal and compliance terminology, concepts, and processes
Familiarity with operational, financial, compliance, quality assurance, Information, Technology, and human resource procedures and laws, regulations, policies, and guidance
Familiarity with research and corporate compliance issues and related laws, regulations, policies, and guidance
Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
Knowledge of legal research tools

Ability to interpret and disseminate regulatory changes
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Ability to effectively prioritize workload
Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive and/or proprietary information
