About the Trust Associate Role:
As a member of the DS Baker Advisors team, the primary role of the Trust Associate is the general administrative assistance and teaming with Trust Advisors to provide the best possible client experience. In partnership with the Trust Advisor, the Trust Associate will maintain administration and relationship management for all accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conferring, on a timely basis, with princi pals, wards, beneficiaries, and others regarding trust matters and determining necessary actions to ensure effective administration of those accounts.
- Provides prompt, courteous assistance to clients in Wealth Management as well as assisting with banking needs in other departments of the Bank. Supports DS Baker Advisor Team in its relationships with clients, attorneys, accountants and members of the community and community organizations.
- Performs a variety of services related to the relationship management of their own or the DS Baker Advisor Teamâs clientele.
o Initiating direct contact with clients on routine transactions
- Understands and complies with standard department practices of risk management, regulatory requirements, general trust policies and sufficiency of documentation.
- Works independently on various account and client matters, most of which are confidential and complex i n nature. Completes entire task or project independently when requested. Analyzes data and draws conclusions, making recommendations to a Trust Advisor when appropriate.
- Reviews accounts on a daily basis for correctness and activity required, including initiating and recommending cash management and trade activity.
- Opening and closing accounts per trust procedures within the allotted time schedules. Working through the complex duties and steps required to successfully move assets, calculate and collect appropriate fees, and manage the many steps of this process.
- Prepare annual account reviews with accuracy and attention to detail; including the client review, the Administrative review and the OCC required Reg 9 reviews in Investors View.
- Preparing inventory and/or disposition of trust and estate property.
- Researching accounting and tax problems, working with tax professionals when necessary.
- Prepares various reports and s chedules.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office. Ability to efficiently learn new programs and to proficiently use and interpret data provided by software tools.

- Ability to participate in effective team decisionmaking, relying on team membersâ expertise, knowledge, and relationship with the client.

- Ability to apply logic and reasoning when carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to understand and learn to interpret complex trust accounting statements.
- Ability to learn a variety of trust related terms and agreements as well as Trust Statutes.
- Ability to learn and understand fee schedules and how they apply to different types of accounts.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to have courteous contact with the public on the phone and in person.
- Valid Driver License required.

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from twoyear college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability and desire to learn and grow in the Wealth Management profession.
