Are you an org! anized and driven person who wants to make an impact on the convergence of business and law at Microsoft? If so, the legal team supporting Microsoft’s Cloud & Enterprise (C&E) Division (formerly the Server & Tools Business) is looking for you! The C&E legal team is a part of the organization providing support to all of Microsoft’s engineering and marketing groups (PSG) within the Legal & Corporate Affairs (LCA) department.

You’ll play a key leadership role in the planning and execution of the group’s commitments, initiatives and strategy. Primary responsibilities include driving the rhythm of the business (ROB), improving business and legal processes, providing key insight into business and legal performance and initiatives, and managing business operations to provide critical support to the VP and leadership team.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and drive the ROB, including the creation of a predictable cadence to me! etings, deliverables and expectations for leadership and exten! ded organization. Responsible for staff and leadership team meeting agendas and the facilitation of staff meetings and leadership team meetings.
  • Manage the planning and execution of business review meetings, highlighting business performance against key initiatives.
  • Provide analyses of the group’s functions, performance, customer satisfaction, workplace health and cost efficacy, and drive development and implementation of related improvement plans.
  • Drive the annual planning process and commitment establishment.
  • Help LCA build and deploy improved systems and efficient processes, including the deployment of web-based legal resources.
  • Collaborate with the team’s leadership to define strategic and operational direction.
  • Manage team contingent staff, physical space, recruiting and staffing needs, resource requirements, and team events.
  • Manage internal communications with team, clients and other LCA groups. Develo! p speeches and presentations to internal and external audiences for VP and leadership team.
  • Drive budget planning, tracking, analysis, and forecasting, in collaboration with LCA Finance for C+E and PSG; deploy consistent and accurate financial reporting procedures while working closely with the business manager team and VPs. Partner with the LCA operations team and the LCA financial reporting team, as appropriate.
  • Serve as point-of-contact for all questions regarding C&E budget, matters, and the TyMetrix system.
  • Lead a committee consisting of attorneys from across the department to standardize recruiting practices, prioritize staffing needs, and build a robust pipeline to encourage and empower talent mobility.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business management, project management, or related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of work experience in areas directly relevant t! o the responsibilities described above.
  • Strong organization sk! ills with a bias for action.
  • Clearly prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects in parallel and effectively achieve results through a model of influence rather than authority.
  • Ability to implement change management strategies.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Strong financial and business acumen and ability to ramp quickly across our diverse business and offerings.
  • Independent worker with a track record of success driving process improvement projects and achieving process excellence.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications.
  • Ability to plan at both a strategic and implementation level.
  • Display good judgment in dealing with sensitive materials and information and keeping confidences.
  • Great sense of humor.
