Case Manager The candidate will be the primary point of contact for company's expert witness services' law firm clien! ts, expert witness network and non-affiliated experts. Will use understanding of the expert witness market to gather relevant information at case intake to ensure that the correct experts are located, close cases, and facilitate the retention of the company's experts. Will also work with the law firm clients and expert witnesses to verify satisfaction with the project. Responsible for building and maintaining a strong relationship with both the law firm and expert witnesses. Gather information from attorney clients at case intake regarding details of case and requirements for expert witness. Submit expert witness candidates to clients, offer free interviews with the expert to the client, adjust expert requirements as needed, and ultimately seek retention of expert candidate. Perform contract negotiation, including expert rates and retainers, as well as other contractual terms, and TREWS fees. Handle customer service calls to ensure customer satisfaction. Close searches when! we do not make a successful placement, gather client feedback! and provide business development materials to client upon closure. Review client requirements to understand expert recruiter needs. Research issues and unfamiliar terms within the requirements. Locate and recruit expert witnesses that fit the needs of the client requirements. Provide customer service to potential expert witnesses to keep them informed of the case status. Negotiate contract terms with the expert witness. Train new hires to the Case Management team. Participate as a mentor in the new employee mentor program.
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree. J.D. degree is preferred. Should preferably have 3 years of litigation experience with 1-2 years of experience with TREWS operational processes, or similar experience in a related industry. Must have extensive knowledge of the expert witness market and how expert witnesses are utilized for litigation, to include applicable legal knowledge of all facets of civil litigation. Strong knowledge of operat! ional processes and procedures required. Proficiency in Westlaw preferred. General business and legal industry knowledge required.
