Our facilities include one of the highest-capacity and most diverse paper mills in North America, and a network of well-equipped corrugated container plants in four Western states. We manufacture more than 70 grades of kraft paper and containerboard, and supply a broad range of corrugated packaging and solid fibre slip sheets. We supply our products to 35 countries worldwide.

Summary:
Coordinate all sourcing relating to a category or a set of categories for Longview. Develop and execute against annual category plans and quarterly goals and targets.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain sourcing strategies, plans and subject matter expertise for assigned Categories with particular focus on: HR/Benefits, IT, travel, fleet, office supplies and equipment, general consulting services and marketing services Proactively engage internal customers and facilitate the acquisition of materials and services that meet business requirements. Coordinate Procurement activities with stakeholders and clients to build strategies and procurement decisions Identify and qualify potential suppliers (and products/services). Ensure that beneficial, ethical and open supplier relationships are created and maintained, providing all suppliers equal access to supply Company requirements. Establish category and cross functional teams and facilitate requests for information/proposal/quotation to assess supplier capabilities and recommend sources of supply. Translate strategies into detailed category plans with set of measurable actions and targets; work with internal customers to forecast projected spend based on short and long-term demands and take into account organizational changes Develop RFQ/RFP, agreements and contracts; lead RFQ/RFP/competitive bidding process and contract language; validate and pre-approve standard contract terms and conditions; review responses to suppliers’ proposed deviations Perform cost/price analysis and value with total cost of ownership as objective and input into category strategies; identify, negotiate, and implement cost avoidance/reduction opportunities; set and implement cost savings targets for assigned categories Effectively prepare for supplier negotiation by developing alternatives with stakeholder input on goals, objectives, options and alternatives; conduct negotiations with suppliers and finalize contracts within a timely basis Conduct supplier performance reviews in terms of quality, annual cost reductions, inventory, lead times, and supplier capacity; ensure suppliers’ compliance to Service Level Agreements (SLAs); resolve disputes; develop and undertake corrective actions based on evaluation results Model relevant financial and economic pricing information and understand the impacts on spend categories and cost to the business; develop internal cost baselines and compare to alternatives such as make vs. buy, inventory approach Understand role competencies and undertake learning and development opportunities; take actions to improve individual performance

Qualifications:
Ability to comprehend and apply Strategic Sourcing and Procurement principles, policies, concepts and standards and procedures, including price analysis, negotiations, ethics, and Procurement law. Able to independently determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Experience with conducting complex analysis projects Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-volume environment and demonstrate a degree of individual initiative. Ability to independently plan, schedule, and carry out work assignment, initiate and participate in the improvement of sourcing Procurement practices Knowledge of Procurement arrangements including JIT, Consignment, Vendor Managed Inventory, E-Catalog, E-Procurement, E-Source, etc.

Education & Experience:
3-5 years Procurement experience with indirect spend categories Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, engineering or other appropriate major (required) Certified Purchasing Manager designation (preferred) Requires organizational skills, attention to detail, capability of processing information quickly and accurately Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, and maintenance of confidentiality of information. Ability to establish and maintain working relations with peers, internal partners, clients, and suppliers Understand strategies, risk and opportunities within assigned categories; facilitate development of strategy and identify risk and opportunities; develop and execute strategy implementation Understand contract administration, laws and liability; communicate with attorneys and business units to resolve contractual issues. Develop contract documents Proficient in MS Office applications including, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, be able to apply various systems to Company's Procurement activities. Hands on experience working with a computerized Procurement system, preferably JDE.
