We are currently looking for a superstar Cafe Manager to join our South Bay team!
The Cafe Manager leads the Specialtyâs Café Team Members to provide our online and in store customers with an extraordinary experience that meets or exceeds Specialtyâs service standards and objectives. The Cafe Manager reports directly to the General Manager.
Essential Functions - GENERAL:
1. Open (or Close) the Cafe using designated Cafe Manager Checklists
2. Ensure Team Members comply with all Policies and Procedures, including Team Member Position Checklists
3. Activate and/or Deactivate security alarms as needed
4. Prepare deposits and reconcile cash drawers and safe from previous shifts
5. Bring daily deposit to Bank
6. Support Catering Manager with any catering needs
7. Conduct Succession Planning 1on1s with designated Team Members
8. Other projects/duties as assigned by the General Manager
Essential Functions - SPECIFIC:
Assist in Administrative functions as delegated by General Manager such as:
- Ensure Cost of Labor (COL) budget is being met through effective labor planning and scheduling Including applicable breaks and meal periods
- Office Supply Orders
- Uphold Brand Standards of Coffee Partner
- Be the Service Specialist â" Creates a culture of Extraordinary Service:
- Maintain an average of 90% on all Mystery Shops
- Create action plans as necessary
- Greet customers within 10 seconds of entry (Greet Fights)
- Find a way to say âYESâ to ensure an extraordinary experience
- Execution of Specialtyâs Fantastic 5 Customer Service procedure
- Action Oriented â" Works with a sense of urgency. Accomplishes tasks at or faster than allotted times
- Customer Focused â" Acts in a manner to best serve our customers; whether online or in café
- Integrity & Trust â" Acts and speaks in an honest manner with everyone. Takes responsibility for actions and results

- Math Skills â" Basic Math Skills to ensure proper counting, ordering, inventory, etc
- Computer skills â" Operate in Excel, Word & Outlook. Operate within our internal systems & on the web as necessary
- Multi-task skills â" Effectively completes multiple projects at once while keeping an organized workspace
- Decision Making â" Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment
- Read, write and communicate effectively in English with all levels of the organization
- Physical requirements:
2. Climbing, reaching, walking, sitting, grasping, repetitive motions, visual acuity, hearing and a great deal of smiling
3. Able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs
4. Work standing up for sustained periods of up to 4 hours
- 1-2 years of restaurant supervisory experience or 90 days in a Trainer position within Specialtyâs Café & Bakery.
