This paralegal will! work with other attorneys and paralegals who have overall responsibility to support these businesses and will be part of the broader Applications and Services LCA team of highly capable, collaborative and enthusiastic professionals.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing front-line legal counseling on a broad range of issues related to the development of client applications and services, including intellectual property protection, privacy, security, telecom, regulatory, accessibility as well as technology transactions, collaborations with third parties and other commercial issues;
- Providing front-line legal counseling on a broad range of issues related to the product management, marketing, promotion and distribution of various applications and services including reviewing distribution programs, pricing promotions, marketing collateral and other content;
- Reviewing and drafting end user license agreements for client applications, s! ervices and tools;
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements pertaining to the development of client applications and services, as well as the use of pre-release/beta versions of these apps and services;
- Partnering with LCA colleagues and clients to develop and administer policies and practices related to legal and regulatory issues faced by the business;
- Developing programmatic approach to handle frequent legal and regulatory issues;
- Working with clients on initiatives to enhance the customer/partner experience;
- Assisting in the development and preparation of client training materials, the development and deployment of client-facing Intranet tools, and the improvement of our processes and templates to increase the efficiency and quality of legal services; and
- Working together with the rest of the legal team to provide comprehensive legal services to all levels of the supported businesses.
- 4+ years relevant experi! ence as a practicing paralegal (or equivalent);
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal certificate is required;
- Experience with intellectual property issues and drafting and negotiating basic technology agreements strongly preferred and familiarity with open source, telecom and privacy law a plus;
- Ability to work independently and partner with clients in supported groups;
- Ability to lead across various internal business and LCA teams to drive issues to conclusion;
- Strong results orientation and business focus;
- Outstanding organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail;
- Excellent oral and written communications skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines, and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
