We are currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to work on a regular and full-time basis.
What you will do
You will ! support the litigating attorneys by organizing documents and document production; conducting various document searches and factual research; conducting preliminary investigation of claims; scheduling and coordinating discovery; preparing for depositions; assisting with preparation of motions, briefs and court filings; preparing attorney for trial and/or arbitration; acting as a liaison between internal staff, clients and various external agencies; and managing case schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications
Who you are
You are a Litigation Paralegal with at least two (2) years of experience in plaintiff personal injury or medical malpractice. You have a strong understanding of the policies and procedures of law, including WA state case law, court rules, federal, state and local. You should have litigation experience including deposition and trial preparation and support. Experience preparing for and attending trial would be ideal.
You have a! n amazing ability to organize and track a high volume of cases! , moving them forward toward settlement or judgment without missing details or compromising quality. You are able to work both independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. You are able to draft, transcribe, proofread and edit correspondence, reports and legal documents, using correct grammar and punctuation. You must be technologically savvy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook and familiarity with electronic case management and research systems. Your professional demeanor is calm, patient and proactive in the face of heavy workload and deadline pressures. You work easily with a wide variety of people and personalities and enjoy being the go-to person for your attorneys and other legal staff.
