Commitment to Service Children's Administration is currently recruiting for a dynamic, motivated, and culturally competent Social and Health Program Consultant 2 located in the King West office, Division of Children and Family Services. This position reports to Area Administrator Erik Applebee.

Duties:
Within the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Children's Administration, this position will serve as the Social and Health Program Consultant 2 (SHPC2) for the King West and White Center offices, including King County Family Treatment Court DSHS staff.

This position will coordinate the activities of the King West and White Center Social Service Specialists (SSS) in Child Protection Team, Shared Planning M! eetings, and serves as back-up Family Team Decision Making (FT! DM) meeting facilitator.

Develops and administers family case plans that ensure child(ren)'s safety and protection and places families at the center of the decision making process and helps ensure timely, safe permanency for children. This position ensure the health and safety of children by support and guiding families involved with the child welfare system through shared decision making. This position establishes and maintains ongoing relationships with multiple community agencies and housing entities.

This position will be responsible for managing and maintaining the King West and White Center's Adoptions and Safe Families Act (ASFA) spreadsheet and will ensure all supervisors are reporting timely and accurate information regarding ASFA compliance. This position will work with the supervisors to identify any training or support the SSS3's need to complete timely referrals for Termination of Parent Rights (TPR) to the Attorney General's office (AAG). Thi! s position may assist SSS3's in completing said referrals and will be able to sign the TPR referral packets in the place of the unit supervisor.

This position will serve as a lead for the King West and White Center Office's Recruitment, Development, and Support (RDS) efforts. The recruitment, development, and support of licensed foster parents is essential to having healthy placement options for local areas.

This position recruits and processes CA volunteers and their application/background forms and assigned volunteers, interns, and work study students to social service staff. This position maintains statistical data on volunteer, intern, and work study usage and process mileage reimbursement forms for those individuals.

This position will have varying non-case carrying duties as needed and identified in the King West and White Center offices as assigned by the Area Administrator.

In performing all assigned duties the Social and Health P! rogram Consultant adheres to the tenets of the Solution Bases Casework ! (SBC) model with a focus on understanding and respecting strengths of the clients including their heritage, cultural beliefs and values, and communication and learning styles.

This position has been designated as emergent under the DSHS Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan. Based on this status, in a declared emergency, the incumbent may be required to report for duty on short notice, report outside of regular work hours or on scheduled days off, and/or report to a duty station other than the official duty station.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: One year of professional level experience in Department of Social and Health Services assessing safety to children and providing direct family-centered practice services (strengthening and preserving family units);

OR

A Master's degree or higher in social work, social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field and t! wo years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social service programs, one year of which must include assessing risk and safety to children and providing direct family-centered practice services (strengthening and preserving family unites).
OR A Bachelor's degree in social work, social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field,and three years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social service programs, one year of which must include assessing risk and safety to children and providing direct family-centered practice services (strengthening and preserving family units).

Note: A degree in Social Work must be from an educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Child Safety: The Social and Health Program Consultant 2 (SHPC2) is expected to deliver services and pr! actice in a manner that adheres to the law and Children's Administratio! n policies. The SHPC2 must use good judgment and shared decision making while utilizing the tools provided by the Children's Administration in assessing risk to children.

Customer Service: The work of a Social and Health Program Consultant is complicated, fast-paced and requires the incumbent to exercise good judgment, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills with an eye for providing each internal and external customer with appropriate,timely and respectful service.

Teamwork: As a team member the Social and Health Program Consultant is expected to work in a professional and collaborative manner to achieve the immediate goal of child safety. Demonstrate flexibility, cooperation and openness to new ideas and constructive feedback. Utilize shared decision making both internally and externally.

Leadership: It is important that the Social and Health Program Consultant demonstrate the ability to build rapport, instill confid! ence, build credibility, provide direction and impart knowledge.

Communication: Required to communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of people who have varying abilities to understand the message. Must convey information in a clear, concise, and simple form and be able to hear and understand messages from internal and external customers with whom he/she must communicate.

Organization: The successful worker must be able to prioritize and work on many cases concurrently while keeping in mind meeting the time requirements for competing multiple tasks as defined by policy, and ensuring that the needs of the child, family, and other parties are met.

Diversity: Work effectively with children and families from diverse religions, cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, providing assessments and services that are appropriate to the family's unique needs. Work diligently with every family they are involved with ! to determine whether there is Native American Ancestry in their family,! and if so, communicate with appropriate Tribal officials for their input in case planning.

Self-Management: Must be punctual, exhibit regular work attendance, reliability and demonstrate an efficient and effective use of work time. Treat others with respect, dignity, and honesty while working effectively in a divers work environment.

Actively maintains current knowledge of applicable laws, rules and policies on delivery of child protective and child welfare services within Washington State and delivers services accordingly.

Maintain documentation of services offered using Microsoft Word (forms and letters), FamLink.

Maintain professional communication through email and memorandum as appropriate.
