Location: Pullman, Washington

Description: State of Washington is currently seeking to employ L&I Electrical Construction Inspector right now, this career will be assigned in Washington. You’ll inspect electrical installations in ! various stages of construction. Enforce compliance with electrical licensing laws, state rules and the National Electrical Code and issue citations or correction notices for safety violations. In addition, you’ll schedule daily work for maximum effectiveness, and maintain and update computer records as required by policy and procedure. Some of what you will do
Check individuals and companies performing electrical installations for compliance with licensing and permitting requirements.
Conduct field investigations and compile investigation reports.
Issue approval notices for electrical installations and write correction notices where there are violations.
Make electrical disconnects according to policy and procedures.
Answer questions about NEC, and Washington State wiring rules and regulations.
Maintain good relations with contractors, architects, engineers, public utilities and private parties engaged in the use and installation of electrical equi! pment.
Issue electrical fee due notices when required by a! ppropriate WAC rules.
Accurately complete and document action in the Infraction Citation Writer (ICW) computer system.
When required, prepare testimony and testify on behalf of the Department before an Administrative Law Judge and other courts regarding investigations and findings, and to defend and support citations issued. Who should apply 4 years’ work experience as a certified journeyman electrician in the electrical construction trade installing and maintaining electrical systems or other experience as outlined in RCW 19.28.321. What we’re looking for
Must possess and maintain a valid and active WA State General Journeyman (EL01) electrician certificate or Master General Journeyman (ME01) electrician certificate.
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Demonstrated experience in a cross-section of electrical work in the electrical construction industry.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Provide services that ! consistently meet and exceed the needs and expectations of our customers.
Code knowledge - understand how and when the National Electrical Code, RCW 19.28 and WCA 296-46B apply to all commercial, industrial and residential electrical installations and the calculation of loads in those installations.
Experience reading and interpreting, plans and blueprints of electrical installations.
Explain electrical trade rules, regulations, policies and procedures and keep current and trained in applicable electrical codes and laws.
Crawl under buildings and into attics, climb ladders and scaffolding, and enter "confined spaces" (after following proper procedure for testing), to perform electrical inspections. Walk up to one half mile to access assigned inspections.
Travel daily, throughout assigned region to other regions to cover workloads and attend training.
Washington State General Administrator Certificate (AD01) preferred.
