Essential Duties: Provide evidence-based and /or promising practices psychological and psych! osocial interventions through counseling, problem-solving and case management services. Provide typewritten, diagnostic assessments, to be reviewed and signed-off by supervisor, as needed. Facilitate co-occurring related groups, both on-site and off-site. Comply with all documentation and filing requirements, according to WAC, County and BOP regulations. Participate in clinical supervision as needed and when directed to do so. Participate in administrative meetings, staying informed of all changes and developments relating to administrative, program and agency functions. When necessary, represent PHS (unit) in professional meetings within the community. Must be amenable to regular supervision and willing to develop or comply with an annual training plan.Typical tasks in carrying out these responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Present classes Assist with the planning and coordination of all counseling and education programing services Facilitate Che! mical Dependency Counseling and provide individual chemical de! pendency counseling in accordance with department policy based upon identified treatment needs, specified in the individual treatment planRequired Skills & Abilities: Ability to effectively attune to clients while providing feedback and support in sessions; Keen awareness of transference/counter-transference issues. Strong familiarity with ones professional code of ethics. Ability to maintain personal boundaries while effectively joining with individuals, groups and family systems. Capacity to calmly de-escalate onsite crisis situations with PHS (unit) clientele. College-level writing skills are mandatory for typewritten assessments. Extensive familiarity with the latest DSM-TR is required; depending on position. Ability to judge when to seek help from supervisor or peers. Willingness to engage with supervisors and peers in a collaborative manner. Ability to utilize a multitude of therapeutic modalities to meet clients needs. Awareness about the influence of chemical depend! ency concerns on mental health issues. Current working knowledge of community resources â" including shelters, medical clinics and public social service agencies. Ability to maintain complete and accurate documentation of all activities (including, but not limited to: case files and records, progress notes, case plans, reports, case summaries and billing information) on a professional, self-directed basis. Effective time management and organizational skills are mandatory.
Required Training and/or Education: CDP certification to provide services in the State of Washington as required by law.Additional Requirements: Two years experience with the same or similar client population being served. Additional qualifying training and/or experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the educational requirements; and vise a versa.
