Our Values are: Excellence in Service Respect Collaboration and Partnership Diversity Accountability The Department of Social and Health Services/Economic Services Administration (ESA), Division of Child Support (DCS) is recruiting to fill four (4) Support Enforcement Officer positions within the Everett DCS Office in Everett, WA. This is an in-training position for a Support Enforcement Officer 2. All levels of the SEO series are encouraged to apply.
Duties:
This position serves as primary collection enforcement office for DCS and independently initiates and authorizes the establishment, collection, distribution, and/or modification and enforcement of financial, medical, interstate and other child support obligation. Independent judgment is used in interpreting court and/or administrative orders, determining appropriate enforcement actions, assuring compliance with Federal program standards as well as State laws and regulations. Incumbents at this level have delegated authority to initiate, prepare, sign and serve support enforcement administrative and legal actions and delegated authority to make child support debt and distribution determination. Duties include but are not limited to: · Manages an assigned complex high-volume child support caseload, within program standards, policies, procedures, and mandated timeframes while utilizing all appropriate performance measurements; · Reviews, evaluates, and makes initial determinations on requests for services from a variety of sources; · Interprets case information and conducts case actions for needed establishment and/or enforcement of child support and medical support orders in compliance with State laws, rules, regulations, and procedures; · Reviews child and medical support orders for initiation of modification procedures as needed including actual modification and finalization of various administrative orders; · Maintains current knowledge of child and medical support laws, rules, policies, and procedures; · Maintains current knowledge of all applicable child and medical support computer programs while assuring case data is entered accurately and appropriately in the Support Enforcement Systems (SEMS); · Provides professional, timely and responsive customer service to a diverse set of stakeholders including clients or customers, co-workers, other agencies, and the general public while strictly adhering to all laws and policies regarding confidentiality; · Independently interviews and/or negotiates with custodial or non-custodial parents, their attorneys or representatives, and employers regarding case information or actions.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: At the SEO 1 Level Bachelorâs degree from an accredited educational institution. OR Two (2) years post secondary education and/or AA degree and two (2) years experience in one, or a combination of the following: collection of debts; determining financial responsibility or determining eligibility for programs or services; research into financial backgrounds and claims; adjustment of claims or finance including providing assistance to client/customers regarding inquiries, complaints or problems or child support collection experience in another state. OR Four (4) years experience in one, or a combination of the following: collection of debts; determining financial eligibility for programs or services; investigation; adjustment of claims or finance including providing assistance to client/customers regarding inquiries, complaints or problems or child support collection experience in another state. OR Two years as a Support Enforcement Technician At the SEO 2 Level One year as a Support Enforcement Officer 1 and completion of one year in training plan
