SR. COUNSEL â" MARKETING â" COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS (EXCLUSIVE), TOP TECH COMPANY, PACIFIC NORTHWEST
Our client, a premier international technology company, has exclusively retained us to help them find a Senior Counsel to focus on marketing and advertising-related initiatives relating to its cutting-edge consumer products, including: print, television and other media marketing programs; advertising on content websites; mobile shopping initiatives; strategic one-off business partnerships; social networks and affiliate marketing; and other sources of online traffic origination. You will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counseling consumer product-related business on a broad range of marketing issues, including advertising, social media, sweepstakes, contests and other promotions in multiple forms of media. This attorney will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters and structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions. Because of the high-level nature of this position, you will work directly with top executives in the marketing group, providing day-to-day advice, serving as lead counsel on strategic deals, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a J.D. degree from a top-tier law school and be a member of at least one state bar. A suitable candidate must have a strong transactional background in an area that focuses on structuring, developing and negotiating agreements similar to the types listed above, with a minimum of 5 full years of relevant legal experience (with at least 2 years at a top law firm) required. This busy legal team could accommodate either (a) a 5-7 year stellar-credentialed candidate with some on-point experience and a huge drive to learn the business, or (b) a more seasoned senior-level candidate with 7+ yearsâ experience âwho could hit the ground running and assume more extensive responsibilities quickly. Background in technology/content licensing, marketing/advertising deal support, and the technology consumer products industry would be helpful, particularly for more senior candidates. Prior in-house experience would be welcome, though this is not required for a position at this level.
