Corporate Counsel
The Legal team helps achieve strategic goals, manage risks, and preserve the legal and ethical integrity of the company. Constantly involved in critical, complex operations; partner across the business to solve challenging problems and support our growth and progress. Our team focuses on providing thorough legal and risk analysis and advice to foster sound decision-making, and on ensuring compliance with legal and other relevant standards and certifications.
Position Summary
DTG, is looking for an outstanding corporate attorney to join our growing team in Mill Creek, WA. The attorney will provide contracts drafting, negotiation, and management, as well as general advice and regulatory compliance support, particularly with regard to commercial and vendor relationships.
This position is an Individual Contributor and reports to a Senior Corporate Counsel.
Responsibilities
Drafting, negotiating, and consulting agreements for customer and partner offerings.
Assisting and participating in the definition and development of customer templates, policies, procedures and programs, as well as legal templates and training.
Providing counsel and guidance to management, and business units, while also supporting the risk management function and regulatory compliance..
Drafting, and negotiating all aspects of vendor and customer contracts.
Supporting marketing by reviewing press releases, communications, websites and competitive intelligence.
Basic Qualifications
Exceptional academic and in-house credentials, admitted into and in good standing with at least one state bar.
1-3 yearsâ experience -- drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a variety of customer and partner transactions such as strategic partnerships, consulting partnerships, and inbound/o utbound licensing agreements (1-2 yearsâ Litigation experience a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
A clear understanding of Contracts Management principles, and the ability to craft and implement legal policies and training, as well as experience reviewing, revising, drafting, negotiating, and advising on sophisticated and complex contracts, such as services agreements, sales agreements, marketing/advertising, professional services agreements, technology agreements, partner, and vendor agreements.
Knowledge of HIPAA and/or federal and state procurement practices and regulations, include Business Associate Agreements desired, but not required.
Strong professional judgment, practicality, and client service focus. Proactive and able to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent analytic and communication skills, with ability to act on best info rmation available and not wait for absolute certainty.
A mix of corporate law firm, in-house, and litigation experience is a plus.
Ability to demonstrate sound and practical business judgment even in ambiguous situations.
Excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple and varying mission-critical projects at once, and to follow through and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor.
The successful applicant will possess the following required qualifications:
- Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in law in Washington State, or be able to obtain such licensing within a reasonable time
- 2 years of experience as an in-house legal counsel or at a law firm engaged in applicable work
