Job Summary:
This position is a member of the Judicial Engagement Team who will lead work that identifies, develops, and supports safe reduction efforts related to judicial, court administration, legal representation, and Court Improvement Program practices. The Judicial Engagement Consultant is a nationally recognized expert in the field of court best practices. Demonstrated capacity to fill this position includes direct experience leading national or state court reform efforts, including teaching and/or publications reflecting a superior knowledge of areas including child welfare law, judicial leadership, court management, legal representation, or multi-system collaboration.
This position provides support and consultation to judges, court administrators, attorneys, and Court Improvement Projects/Childrenâs Commissions. The JE Consultant models a collaborative and c! ollective impact strategy approach to problem solving while wo! rking with dependency court system reform. Responsibilities include, project initiation and management in conformity with the Casey Family Programsâ state plans
- The JE Consultant demonstrates expertise related to judicial engagement at local, state and national levels. This position operates in coordination with Child Welfare Strategic Consultants to ensure alignment with state plans, organizational values, goals, and directives in all work performed. This position creates and leverages child welfare systems integration and federal policy alignment to realize Casey Family Programâs 2020: Communities of Hope mission.

- Influence the interest and capacity of systems to support CFP 2020: Community of Hope goals. Support courts in high potential/ priority jurisdictions in implementing evidence-based practices.
- Provide direct consultation to courts that advance Caseyâs 20! 20: Community of Hope goals; support implementation of safe reduction, well-being and ICWA compliance practices.
- Documents progress of stated goals, provides quarterly reports, and participates in JE team progress analysis.

- Reports to the JE Managing Director in providing relevant, effective analysis that results in meeting short and long term objectives. Ensures all work is aligned with and furthers the 2020 vision.
- Delivers expertise to CFP and Partners regarding leading edge practice and technologies that impact child welfare judicial practice and administration.
- Anticipates and adapts to changing priorities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Law degree and active license to practice law.
- A minimum of ten years recent court management, state AOC, C! IP/Childrenâs Commission administration.
- Direct experience a! s it relates judicial policy and practice, court administration or legal representation best practice. Expert knowledge of multi-disciplinary collaboration, judicial practice and education, legal representation, child welfare and national policy affecting each area.
- Experience in strategic planning, systems integration, operational achievement of goals and an in-depth understanding of multi-state dependency court systems required. Knowledge and experience of current needs along with and influential contacts required.
- Experience in Internet research and solid working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, PageMaker, Sharepoint etc.) required. Ability to learn other pertinent software programs as required.
- This is a regular full-time position that may require travel up to 75% or more of the time.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift and reach for light objects; close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data,! text, and figures; ability to type utilizing a computer keyboard; ability to travel to outside locations; and the ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time as a primary job function.
