Director, Litigation Patent Attorney The candidate will be part of a team of litigation specialists reporting the Vice Preside! nt and Chief Litigation Counsel. Will develop strong liability and damages cases through rigorous review and analysis of: industry and company technologies and revenue models; patents that cover key technologies and revenue streams; and theories of recovery that reflect and preserve the value of company s patents. Determine case strategy and drive offensive and defensive litigation matters to a favorable outcomes for company. Select the strongest outside litigation attorneys and experts to support and execute company s litigation initiatives. Collaborate with and manage outside litigation counsel and experts through all stages of litigation preparation and execution. Serve as a lead negotiator in settling litigation disputes. Develop and implement strategies to enhance company s processes for efficient and cost effective management of litigation matters. Develop and manage budgets and financial plans for company s litigation matters. Develop and provide internal training an! d other programs regarding litigation related issues.
! The candidate should have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Engineering or science-based degree is desirable. Prompt admission to the Washington State Bar, by reciprocity or exam us needed, if not already admitted in WA. Must have 10+ years of patent litigation experience, 7+ years of which were spent with a reputable law firm. In-house litigation experience preferred. Deposition, trial and other courtroom experience is a plus. Experience managing paralegals and other attorneys on litigation projects is needed. Should have ability to communicate information effectively, both orally and in writing. Should have strong leadership skills, substantial hands-on patent litigation experience on both liability and damages issues, and very strong written and oral communication skills.
