Further informations about this vacancy opportunity kindly read the description below. Patent Attorney Responsibilities: Will be supporting the company's applications and services group. Will have an opport! unity to provide general patent portfolio development to the ASD business and significantly contribute to the success of company's efforts to be a worldwide IP leader. This role is part of the ASD Patent Team in company's Patent Group. Responsibilities will primarily include: Strategically develop and manage the ASD patent portfolio to advance company's business goals; supervise outside counsel to properly prepare and prosecute patent applications; counsel and partner with the ASD businesses to develop and implement patent filing strategies for the company's Applications and Services Group and the company's dynamics group, including patent filing strategies to protect strategic innovations. Evaluate third party patent infringement claims against ASD technologies and provide guidance and counsel to executives. Evaluate and negotiate in-bound patent licenses. Provide advice and counsel to the ASD business on patent related open source and standards issues. Provide support to ! business attorneys on patent related issues in commercial and ! technology transactions. Support in-house and outside patent litigation attorneys in patent litigations, including guidance and counsel to ASD executives and management. Support outbound patent licensing and patent cross licensing efforts.
Qualifications: The candidate should have graduated from an ABA accredited law school, be admitted to practice in at least one State in the U. S. and be admitted to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office. Should also have 5+ years of experience in practicing patent preparation and prosecution in a law firm or large corporation, in areas such as: preparation and prosecution of patent applications, developing and managing international patent portfolios, patent related transactions and licensing, patent opinion work (invalidity/non-infringement) and/or patent litigation. A technical background in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering is also preferred. Should also have strong communica! tions skills, and a collaborative, team oriented approach to work.
