Our client, a medium-size established law firm in downtown Tacoma has an immediate need for an experienced Family Law Legal ! Assistant to join their ranks on a temporary ongoing basis. As the Family Legal Assistant, you will primarily support the Family Law motions practice of the firm. You will be handling a variety of duties, to include the following, but are not limited to:
File family law pleadings and other documents with the court (possibly ECF);
Draft pleadings from forms;
Calendar all hearing dates and deadlines;
Maintain all files;
Handle highly confidential internal and external matters;
Contact with court personnel, clients and other attorneys;
Other duties as assigned.
LEGAL ASSISTANT SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
To be immediately considered for this Legal Assistant opportunity, you should have the following:
A minimum of three solid years of experience as a family law paralegal/legal assistant;
Proficiency with FamilySoft family law software;
Knowledge of the Washington state court rules and procedures related to motio! ns practice in family law;
Excellent grammar, punctuation,! spelling and organizational skills;
Experience with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work efficiently and interact in a positive manner with clients, attorneys and staff while under pressure or in stressful situations â€" A professional demeanor is a must!
