Western State Hospital is recruiting for a Psychiatric Social Worker 3 (PSW3), day shift (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)with Saturday and Sunday off. This position is located in the Administration of the Habilitative Mental Health Prog! ram.

Duties:
The Psychiatric Social Worker 3 (PSW3) provides psychiatric social work services to clients in the Habilitative Mental Health treatment program.The PSW3 serves as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment tea and provides group and individual therapy. This position serves as the liaison between the hospital and client, family, attorneys, Developmental Disability Administration, RSN;s and other community stakeholders. The incumbent coordinates visitation for family members and significant others as well provides expert testimony at court hearings. The social worker works with clients on discharge planning, provides direct client care and escorts/supervises clients during community placement visits and other transitional discharge related destinations. The PSW3 formulates legal notifications to outside agencies and takes a lead role in creating an! d implementing individualized treatment plans. The incumbent completes psychosocial assessments and progress notes and is responsible for documentation of the discharge and after care plan. The incumbent utilizes current best practices, assists clients to apply for community services and interacts with clients in a caring respectful manner. This position attends and actively participates in a variety of weekly meetings as well as conducts community based client pre-admission screenings.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: A Master's degree in social work from an approved school of social work.

AND

Two (2) years of experience in counseling mentally or emotionally disturbed individuals.

NOTE: Should an offer of employment be made, the candidate MUST either have or obtain a current Registration as an Agency Affiliated Counselor Credential (or equivalent) with the Washington State Dep! artment of Health prior to the start date of employment.

No! te: A degree in Social Work must be from an educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Immunity may be documented through immunization or serologic immunity. Compliance is a condition of employment.

Criminal background check clearance, which may include fingerprinting, is required of all employees and applicants.

Employees in this classification are included in a union shop. Employees must comply with all health screening requirements.

Employees in these positions may be required to work overtime and/or holidays. Employees in these positions must be able to participate as an active member of the treatment team for patients who have behavioral, social, and/or medical problems and who may exhibit non-compliant behavior.
