An established legal practice in downtown Seattle ! is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join their ranks. You must be knowledgeable and possess recent experience with the Washington court rules and procedures as they relate to the practice of family law.
ABOUT THE PARALEGAL POSITION
This full-time Paralegal position supports three Attorneys in the practice of Family Law. You will be handling a variety of Paralegal and some Legal Assistant duties as detailed below:
Paralegal Position duties include but are not limited to:
Draft (extensive 1 st drafts), revise, edit and proofread legal documents and attorney correspondence related to the family law practice;
File family law pleadings and other documents with the court (possibly ECF);
Calendar all hearing dates and deadlines;
Maintain all files;
Handle highly confidential internal and external matters;
Contact with court personnel, clients and other attorneys;
Other duties as assigned.
PARALEGA! L SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
To be immediately considered ! for this Paralegal opportunity, you should have the following:
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a family law paralegal/legal assistant. Personal Injury experience a plus;
Experience in marriage dissolution, legal separation proceedings, including parenting plan issues and disputes, child support and maintenance, and division of property;
Experience with guardianships, support modifications, paternity actions, juvenile court proceedings and adoptions matters;
Knowledge of the Washington state court rules and procedures related to family law;
Excellent grammar, punctuation, spelling and organizational skills;
Experience with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Access and Family Soft;
Ability to work efficiently and interact in a positive manner with clients, attorneys and staff while under pressure or in stressful situations â€" A professional demeanor is a must!
