CORP provides specialized residential treatment for 16 chemically dependent and abusing men and women with co-occurring mental disord! er or emergent medical conditions.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
Without the need for clinical supervision, to provide quality counseling, case management, and community support services to clients with mental health, substance abuse, chemical dependent, and/or co-occurring disorders at Pioneer Human Services (unit), using evidence-based and promising practices, effectively meeting the needs of Pioneerâs clientele and document treatment and case management service provisions in a timely and effective manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide evidence-based, psychological and chemical dependency interventions through psychotherapy sessions and case management services.
- Provide typewritten, diagnostic mental health, co-occurring and chemical dependency assessments without the need for clinical or grammatical reviews or sign-offs.
- Facilitate mental health, co-occurring and chemical dependency groups, both on-site and off-site.
- Comply with all documentation and filing requirements, ! according to WAC and County regulations.
- Participate in clinical supervision as needed and when directed to do so.
- Participate in administrative meetings, staying informed of all changes and developments relating to administrative, program and agency functions.
- When necessary, represent PHS (unit) in professional meetings within the community.
- Must be amenable to regular supervision and willing to develop or comply with an annual training plan.
- Extensive familiarity with the most recent DSM-TR is required;
- Ability to effectively attune to clients while providing feedback and support in therapeutic sessions;
- Keen awareness of transference/counter-transference issues;
- Strong familiarity with oneâs professional code of ethics;
- Ability to maintain personal boundaries while effectively joining with individuals, groups and family systems;
- ! Capacity to calmly de-escalate onsite crisis situations with PCS clientele;
- College-level writing skills are mandatory for typewritten assessments;
- Ability to judge when to seek help from supervisor or peers;
- Willingness to engage with supervisors and peers in a collaborative manner;
- Ability to utilize a multitude of therapeutic modalities to meet clientsâ needs;
- Awareness about the influence of chemical dependency concerns on mental health issues ;
- Current working knowledge of emergency, crisis, health and other community resources that support clients. This includes shelters, medical clinics and public social service agencies;
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all activities (including, but not limited to: case files and records, progress notes, case plans, reports, case summaries and billing information) on a professional, self-directed basis;
- Ability to demonstrate effective time man! agement and organizational skills.
- A Masterâs Degree in the Mental Health field, with curriculum specifically related to counseling and psychology.
- AND CDP certification meeting WAC (246-809-234) Continuing education coursework must be up to date â" as stipulated by the Department of Licensing and professional organizations.
