Description of Duties
Anticipates and responds to Nintendo's legal needs within specialty area, with the oversight of an attorney
Specialty area is litigation and risk management
Performs diverse and complex legal tasks within specific specialty areas to best serve Nintendo's business needs, with minimal supervision
Develops and implements strategies to address complex issues which may arise in litigation and risk management matters
Communicates with employees throughout the company, including management and NCL
Communicates with, negotiates with, and directs outside contacts, which may include outside counsel, local and governmental agencies, representatives of other companies within the industry, trade associations, and other parties as needed
Pursues and maintains most current knowledge of company business, technology and products
Pursues and maintains most current knowledge of company documents and related record management policies
Provides training and reports relating to specialty area to Nintendo employees, outside counsel, and third parties
Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, and legal articles
Conducts or supervises factual investigations
Assembles internal information for expert reports in litigation matters
Coordinates with employees in obtaining information to respond to pending discovery requests;
Assists in preparing employees for depositions and/or trial testimony
Drafts complex legal documents relating to specialty area such as settlement agreements, correspondence and reports
Conducts factual investigations and drafts documents relating to intellectual property and/or commercial disputes
Summary of Requirements
Eight or more years of related experience
Knowledge and understanding of complex issues and procedures associated with specialty area
Ability to independently coordinate administrative projects
Excellent writing skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Excellent judgment and initiative
Excellent negotiation skills
Computer word processing, database and spreadsheet skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
Paralegal degree/certificate, undergraduate degree, or equivalent
