Position Summary

Financial Accounting & Reporting (FARO) is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Projects Group team based in Oslo.

The position will contribute to a centralized team that is handling the accounting for PGS worldwide within the areas of Intercompany, Allocations and Revenue, ensuring a complete, accurate, efficient and consistent reporting.

In this team you will also actively participate in maintaining and improving procedures, processes and controls within the assigned area of responsibility.

The ideal candidate is organized, self-driven and proactive, and enjoy collaborating with various departments and nationalities.

Main Tasks

  • Liaison with business controllers, project managers and others to ensure timely, correct and well documented accounting entries and resolve issues as they arise
  • Take responsibility for assigned sub-processes or areas to ensure the workflow and the accounting processes are efficient
  • Reconciliation and/or review of dedicated balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in identifying unusual transactions
  • Process transactions for the legal entities within your area of responsibility
  • Interface and assist with other process groups within FARO
  • Ensure that key controls in your area of responsibility are reviewed and signed off in a timely manner
  • Perform other related tasks that may be assigned by your manager

Required qualifications

  • Preferable higher education within accounting, alternatively substantial practical and relevant experience of minimum 3 years

Preferred qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practical experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Office
  • Analytical and pragmatic, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet strict deadlines
  • Proactive, service-oriented team-player
  • Self-driven and ability to take responsibility for managing own workload
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally in English
  • Ability to understand, improve and develop procedures, processes and controls
