We are seeking a legal counsel based in the UK who will be assisting the primary shareholder of our client in managing his holdings. The shareholder is a very dynamic & successful entrepreneur wi! th various business interests from technology, e commerce to r! eal-estate and healthcare. Most of his business interest is in North America. This legal counsel will act as a right hand person for him and will manage his holdings for him. He is semi-retired and lives in UK but travels frequently to various offices and this person will have to travel with him or at times without him to represent him.
It is hard to define this role in a job description, main keywords are dynamic, highly intelligent, resourceful, loyal, hard working with a positive attitude and able to work under the pressure.
For the right candidate money is not the constraint as this is a high growth opportunity.
Working closely with the investors/shareholders, executive team, and external counsel around the globe, you will be responsible for:
risk management
compliance and regulatory matters
corporate governance
privacy
international contract negotiation and drafting
Must possess ability to work independently on routine matt! ers; however, is expected to seek guidance from external counsel and accept supervision on more complicated matters or where substantial amounts of money or significant other risks are involved.
You will also advise on business development initiatives, product development and strategic acquisitions. Must be solution-oriented with big-picture thinking and a strategic approach to the practice of law coupled with a strong customer service focus.
Ability to deal tactfully with diverse people, situations and ideas and present advisory, persuasive and authoritative recommendations to all levels of the organization.

Ten plus years of experience in corporate commercial law, preferably with a U.S. focus, is required. This experience may be gained working in-house with a technology company, in a regulated industry, or at a respected law firm as part of a broad business practice.
